Upcoming Themed IssuesWe have it on good authority that the world will end next year when the continents untether, dumping human civilization into oceans boiling with the molten core of the earth. Or maybe it will all end when the sun sends out massive solar flares, heating up the earth's temperature and cooking us all. Or when the Mayan calendar ends. Or zombies take over. Or the end of days begins. Whichever end of the world you prefer, we want to hear about it. In January 2012, River Styx will consider poems, essays, fiction, and art for our next themed issue, 2012: The End of the World. Your interpretation could be inspired by anything from Nostradamus to the Mayans to more personal Armageddons. As T. S. Eliot wrote, "This is the way the world ends / Not with a bang but a whimper."
